HOUSE FOR 2 FRIENDS
On a northern slope two women realize a semidetached house, which can be seen as a model for an economizing residential house type that saves space.
The task was to design individually tailored living and working spaces for the women, who are fundamentally different in their personalities. At the same time, neither should be favored or disadvantaged: two individually tailored parts of the house were designed, which intersect in the middle so that in terms of the panoramic view in the north and the sun conditons from the south and west is guaranteed for both women. The overlay is created by the twist of the higher cube, which has a trapezoidal footprint to comply with distance and height regulations.
A logical sequence of public, semi-public and private areas is realised through the building circulation. From an atrium at street level, an outside staircase leads to a patio above, from which the two apartments are accessed.
