Elisa Maceratini
Elisa is an architect and urban planner, PhD in Urban Renewal, specialized in slum upgrading, urban and regional planning and participatory design, with work experience in more than 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America as international consultant for multilateral development agencies, governments, local institutions and NGOs.
She coordinated several projects, workshop and seminars focused on innovative sustainable methods and tools for urban upgrading, participatory planning, upcycling and social inclusion of disadvantaged groups.
She is co-founder and president of Interazioni Urbane, an italian NGO composed by a team of women architects aimed to develop processes of social inclusion and sustainable development through architecture, participatory planning, community engagement and innovative design in the outskirts of our contemporary cities.
Elisa was awarded during the International Women’s Day 2015 by the President of the Republic of Italy, Sergio Mattarella for the commitment demonstrated in the social and professional sectors of the Italian female society. She was also appointed as "Italy Chairperson for social innovation" in 2017 by the Women Economic Forum (WEF) and the All Ladies League (ALL).
