Nasrine Seraji a étudié à l'AA School de Londres avant de s'installer à Paris et de fonder son atelier d'architecture. À son actif figurent notamment : L'école d'architecture de Lille et 164 logements étudiants tous deux sélectionnés pour l'Équerre d'Argent et le prix Mies Van Der Rohe. Un complexe d'habitation à Vienne, Autriche et un complexe de 200 logements, un remisage de bus RATP et des petits équipements à Paris 14e. Des équipements et plusieurs projets d'urbanisme d'échelle variable (de 100 km2 en Chine jusqu'au 62 ha au Rheu, en France). Professeur en Architecture, elle a enseigné dans des écoles prestigieuses comme : la AA School, Columbia University, Princeton et Cornell, dont elle a dirigé le département d'architecture de 2001 à 2005. De 2006 à 2012, elle est professeur et dirige l'institut d'art et d'architecture de l'Académie des beaux-arts de Vienne, en parallèle de la direction de l'École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture Paris Malaquais qu'elle continue à ce jour. Elle a reçu la Médaille d'Argent de la Formation (Académie d'Architecture), ainsi que les distinctions de chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et lettres, chevalier de l'ordre national du Mérite et chevalier de l'ordre national de la légion d'honneur.

Escherblock - Tehran Stock Exchange

TSE - or the Tehran Stock Exchange was an architectural contradiction as well as potential. On a warm spring day in Mashhad we were once again reminded that architecture is a constant game of life and death. We were shortlisted to take part in a prestigious International competition for the Tehran Stock exchange building. The first question that crosses one's mind is how can we be inventive after the most recent building of OMA in Shenzen' How can we put Tehran on the map the same way that OMA did with Shenzen'

The stock exchange becomes a 'public affair'; the building is then a device for allowing public space to find other meanings and functions. This building is a sophisticated three-dimensional structural grid that responds to the extreme earthquake conditions of the site. It is also a project that allows the public to cross the block without having to go around the building. It is a compact idea of terraces that are stacked and climb up the building. Every floor has a breath-taking view of the high range mountains in Tehran. It is a new type, as no other stock exchange in the world is a public building. The trading floor is its heart but also its stomach. It was our Moby-Dick.
