Pieve di Santa Maria in Dicomano (Florence, Italy)
The Complesso Canonico has been restored according to "scientific restoration" principles, creating handicap accessibility wherever possible so that it once again became an assembling place for the parish community. The overall intention was to restore the historical identity which had been lost in several sections of the complex, resolve the numerous issues related to the superfetations and consolidate weakened supporting structures. The project for the outdoor areas identified the two original historically level areas of the complex and connected them by a stairway in pietra serena.
The restoration of the interior primarily regarded the restoration and sanitization of the basement.
