Elisa Pardini studied architecture at the Universitá degli studi di Roma Tre, graduating in 2006, and gained his Advanced Diploma in Professional Practice in Architecture in 2007. She started working in Rome at Fuksas Architect at the end of 2006, where she stayed until 2007. In 2008 she collaborates with la Sapienza Università, Dipartimento di Sociologia e Comunicazione – Semiotica and her study about post occupancy of the auditorium of Rome was published in the book “I luoghi del consumo – Il consumo dei luoghi”, part of the project PRIN. / In 2008 she moved to UK to work for Foster + Partners. In 2010 Elisa founded elips design. Following a number of successful residential and retail projects, the company has been published worldwide. Her first projects captured the attention of the international press, with Dri Dri, making the finals of the AJ Small Project Awards. With her whimsical and unexpected design, Elisa’s client base grew. / In 2013 during the Clerkenwell Design Week in London ‘The Hanging Garden of Clerkenwell’ demonstrated elips design commitment to research, through new materials and products to study how architecture can effect social environment. Concerned about good quality design moreover exceptional attention to research and social environment. She believes the quality of our surroundings has a direct influence on the quality of our lives. In 2015 together with Robert Hall, she founded Pardini Hall.

102BG

102BG is a residential project in which the use of the natural light positively changed the lives of the people who lived there. The building in question is a Grade II Listed terrace house in the neighbourhood of Westminster. The brief was to create more space for the family, refurbishing the house.
The project features the addition of a contemporary glazed extension. In the daytime, the glass and the stainless steel structure reflects the surrounding, and appears to almost meld into the garden. In the evening the extension illuminates the original brickwork and the glass facade virtually disappears. Our intervention included a stainless steel structure and two walk-on skylights to increase the natural light into the building throughout. The extension has been designed as a lightweight structure, which interacts with the existing house with the lightest of touches.
The result is an integrated contemporary design to this classical building. The modern makeover of the ground and basement floor, creates brighter spaces with the use of elegant materials and furnitures. The landscape has been simplified and tailored to the clients families needs. Large indigenous ferns were relocated and donated to Belgrave Square, which opened up the garden revealing a classical fresco once hidden away.
